| Putting my thrift store finds to use, didn't expect to be able to wear the coat in February. |
Happy weekend! Ours has been pretty great, not very eventful but great. To round out the weekend here are 6 things you don't need to know about me but i'm going to tell you anyway. I think they qualify as "confessions".
(When you hear someone says 'confessions' do you start singing the Usher song in your head? I do, seriously every - single - time)
:: I had a diet coke and 3 Ferrero Raffaeolo chocolates for breakfast on Saturday. Nothing like a balanced diet.
:: I think I might be getting addicted to thrifting. I've op-shopped heaps of times before but this time it's different. I've been the last two weeks in a row and am in love with the clothes i've bought (for a steal). I really want to go every weekend. The blue skirt doesn't fit but I like it so much I bought it anyway.
:: I've been trying to restore an old dining table for weeks and I was so tired of trying to finish all the sanding back that i'm paying our cousin to finish it for me. Sanding sucks the most-est (you should see it all finished! I'm SO excited to get it all set up in the house).
:: We have a rental inspection tomorrow and I always get super nervous. We keep our house pretty neat all the time so we know we look after the place but I having people walk through my house and look at our stuff.
:: I am an enabler. Tom's got a major sweet tooth so I always try encourage him to eat healthier. BUT I also suggest naughty foods he'll like - tonight as an example when trying to find something edible in our house, I suggested get some of the chocolate cookies we had and making nutella & ice cream sandwiches. Yep, he loves them and it's totally my fault.
:: In church, I could hear a newborn baby and it's little grumble-y hungry noises behind us. My heart ached so badly. I'm not sure why I felt that way that day but I had this physical pain in my chest and I wanted to run away from those beautiful little sounds. I pressed my face into Toms shoulder and prayed so hard for God to take the pain away for that next little while for me. And He did.
So I'm ending this weekend feeling very grateful. For projects finished, Husbands cuddled, sweet cravings satisfied and prayers answered.

I love thrift stores. I don't really have the patience to look through everything but its usually worth it. You can find the most amazing things for very little.

Yep, you have to look through heaps of junk to get the occasional good piece! I got a dress and coat I love for $8 each! total steal!
Deleteomg, the first time I read your photo caption I thought it said "cat" instead of "coat" and I was like "omg what are you finding in thrift stores? whattt"
ReplyDelete...then I realised I'm just blind.
and haha, your breakfast sounds just like my lunch yesterday... and my snacks today... it's a weekend. calories don't count ;)
Haha yes, if there were wearable cats at thrift stores I don't know if I would be interested in thrifting :)
DeleteHow I wish calories on the weekend didn't count - weekends are my downfall.
Chocolate chip cookie nutella ice cream sandwiches! Those sound AMAZING.
ReplyDeleteThey looked pretty awesome! I should have taken some photos :)
Delete1. Oh I love sweets too but seriously have to loose weight so buying Weight Watchers Sundaes - they are great - and NOT BUYING CHOCOLATE
ReplyDelete2. seriously confess to loving sleeping in with my cats cuddled around me - I have a small cat "Bonnie" and she loves to snuggle under my blanket next to time - she is so adorable. My cats are my companions when I cant cuddle my human family.
3. I confess to loving cola products but I dont drink coffee or tea so I dont care - I just try not to have too many
4. I confess to disliking exercise but then Im the arty type so - oh well - I try
cant think of anything else that is publishable but I confess to seriously loving your blog - it makes me think and connect with myself and oh I forgot I can a serial garage saler and op shopper but have been poor lately so have been constraining myself but I am thinking about it again!
You are hilarious! I'm with you on the cola and exercise. You now how I feel about the cats ;)
DeleteSometimes I feel like having a coke for breakfast too. I am a little bit addicted to it. I feel bad about it but can't help myself!
ReplyDeleteI used to feel bad but I don't any more. There are much worse vices than a diet coke ;)
DeleteI am an enabler, too... It's pretty bad, since Mike generally doesn't care too much about eating healthy.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to see the dining room table once it's finished (who cares if it was you or your cousin that did it- let's see that beauty)!!
Girrrrrrllll.... The workers at good will know me by name.... I have a very serious addiction to it....
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog via Katie's blog! And I'm so glad I did. I too am struggling with infertility (I had a miscarriage last year, followed by a D&C, then there were complications and today I'm actually having surgery...no fun). But we are hopeful that soon my body will be ready again. Keeping you in our prayers!
